What is ADSL?
  • ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is a fast Internet connection. It allows digital data transmission over existing ordinary telephone lines using an independent line with high speed broadband Internet. ADSL continuously provides "always on" connection at low cost.
  • ADSL delivers higher speeds at cheap prices and faster access to information on the Internet such as email, webmail, audio streaming, video streaming, video chatting, Internet games, large file transfers and many more.
  • ADSL does not require any additional wiring. With an ADSL router, and for a fixed monthly fee, you can connect 24/7 while leaving the telephone line available for incoming and outgoing calls.
How is this service delivered to me?
This service is delivered through a special ADSL router permanently connected to your regular telephone line, to which you can plug your computer. Once you subscribe to the ADSL service at the Bank, we will do the necessary with the Ministry of Telecommunications to have your line connected to the ADSL service.
What is an ADSL router?
An ADSL router is a device used to connect a computer to a DSL telephone line, in order to use the ADSL service.
What are the differences between each plan offered to me?
  • The plans vary in the download/upload speed, capacity and monthly usage.
  • Speed is the speed of net surfing, downloading files such as movies, documents, pictures etc. It is the speed at which emails and files are sent to other parties.
  • Monthly usage is the monthly consumption of downloaded and uploaded GB.
Should I pay anything in case I exceed my monthly free capacity limit?
Additional downloading capacity can be provided in chunks of 1GB for USD 1.46 each (incl. VAT). Fraction of a 1GB will be rounded up and billed as a full 1GB, i.e. if you consume 3.1GB, you will be billed for 4GB.
How will I know when Ive exceeded my quota of downloading/uploading capacity?
  • IDM will notify you via email when your consumption reaches 85% of the plan, and again when you have consumed 85% of your limit.
  • You can also check your consumption online via IDM's website.
How much will setting up the connection cost me?
If you wish to enroll in the ADSL service , you will have to pay the setup fee (to Ogero), the installation and delivery fee (to IDM), and buy the ADSL router.

  • The standard router connects a single computer to a DSL telephone line.
  • The wireless router provides a convenient way to connect a small number of wires (up to 4) and any number of wireless computers to the Internet.
What is a splitter?
A splitter or noise filter allows a single telephone connection to be used for both ADSL service and voice calls at the same time.
What if I have several telephone handsets in various rooms in my house?
If you have multiple telephone handsets in your house, there is no need to install additional equipment. All you need is to place the splitter the same way for each telephone handset to avoid noise on the telephone line while using the ADSL connection. In this case, you will not pay extra fees.
How many ADSL connections can one telephone line support?
Each telephone line can support a single ADSL connection.
Do I have to pay any stamp fees when applying to the ADSL service?
