Not wanting to miss out on traditions during COVID-19 times, an internal communication announced our heroes for 2020 on the occasion of the world International Volunteer Day, December 5th in lieu of the annual celebration.
The challenges of 2020 also spread to our social responsibility where our volunteers needed to practice great caution hence limiting the activities. Nevertheless, some 400 hours of volunteering took place in the first 11 months of the year engaging colleagues from various departments alongside our Volunteer Program Ambassadors who each accomplished about 100 hours dedicated to the UN Global Compact Network Lebanon acting as a call center to assist the fundraising of the National Poverty Targeting Program (NPTP).
We take this opportunity to salute our colleagues: Joe Chahine (Corporate Credit Risk), Georges Fares (Human Resources) and Nivine Turyaki (Group Research).
Finally, the hero for 2020 is Mortada Rahal (Trade Finance) who accomplished 26.5 hours devoting his time to post Beirut Port blast needs such as fixing damaged windows with plastic and cleaning rubble from buildings.
