It is said that happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give. And sometimes, all we need to give is our time to support those in need and spread the Christmas spirit. On December 3, 2016, 21 volunteers from Bank Audi’s Corporate Central Operations (CCO) Department, along with their families, spent what they called “a day full of emotion and hope” as they entertained 95 communication disordered children at the Orphanage Welfare Society of Saida’s special needs school.

Together they sang, while they watched the little kids proudly perform Lebanon’s anthem in sign language. The older children listened as the volunteers explained basic banking operations and daily tasks. Other volunteers took part in all sorts of recreational activities with the younger children, like painting, and making frames and beaded bracelets.

Finally, everyone, along with the children’s teachers, played football and basketball games. Then, they exchanged gifts they had prepared earlier and shared a meal. After leaving Saida, Mrs. Rita Khoury, Head of the CCO Department, commented on how fortunate we are for the lives we have; she went to ensure that the Department will be more involved in the volunteering program in the upcoming year.
