March 2016 could as well be described as the busiest month so far for our 46 volunteers. Members of the Volunteer Program gave back to the community around 200 hours of their time, skills and care. 2 volunteers trained 23 students from the Sidon’s Vocational School on how to become successful leaders; 2 volunteers prepared 6th graders from the Saida Generation School to wisely use their money in the future; and 2 volunteers provided the youth of S.O.S Kfarhay on thinking business. In parallel, 12 higher-ranking volunteers from 8 different Bank Audi departments used their experience to assist 42 AUB students in working out innovative solutions to the traffic problem in Lebanon. They mentored 5 teams who, in turn, were asked to present their projects to a jury.
Financial literacy workshops continued throughout March in collaboration with Injaz. Bank Audi volunteers helped our partner NGOs organize events to raise awareness on environmental issues through an Earth Hour event as well as child-illnesses, most notably child cancer. The first event gathered 750 guests, while the second garnered around 1500 who enjoyed the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club’s Adios Tour performance.
