Focusing its outreach to particularly important stakeholders, the youth, Bank Audi aims at raising this age group’s awareness on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a global emerging trend. To also benefit from the creativity of younger minds, the Bank hosted a CSR awareness session on November 15, 2014, which was facilitated by Dr. Dima Jamali, Bank Audi’s CSR Consultant.
Around 50 graduate students from various Lebanese universities attended the session. Professor Jamali gave an overview of CSR outlined by Bank Audi’s CSR policy, strategy and recent developments, and supported by initiative examples spanning across its five pillars namely Corporate Governance, Economic Development, Community Development, Human Development and Environmental Protection.
Right after, Head of CSR Hasmig Khoury launched the “Responsible Youth” competition. The main criteria of this contest are innovation, feasibility and adequacy to the Bank’s strategic priorities. The top 3 winners will be awarded cash prizes and the owner of the best CSR project may be granted an internship at Bank Audi to implement the project should management adopt it. The competition will be judged by a prominent CSR-oriented jury.
The session ended with an interactive Q&A and a casual brunch where participants exchanged valuable input and ideas. The project submission deadline is set for January 7, 2015, with three lucky winners proving that youth can play a crucial role in future CSR championing and mainstreaming.
