La Sagesse schools and Bank Audi celebrated their seventh annual “Mérite Blé Vert” event, on the occasion of which academically and artistically distinguished La Sagesse students received scholarships from Audi Saradar Group for the year 2008-2009, in conformity with the partnership binding both institutions.

The reception, held under the patronage of the maronite Archbishop of Beirut, Boulos Matar, at the St. Jean auditorium of La Sagesse in Brasilia – Baabda, was attended by H.E. Mr. Raymond Audi, Minister of the Displaced and member of the Board of Directors of Bank Audi sal - Audi Saradar Group, and the principals of La Sagesse schools in Beirut, Jdeideh, Brasilia, Ain Saadeh, Clémenceau, Ain El Remmaneh and La Sagesse Technique, Fathers Boulos Abdel Sater, Georges Chehwane, Issam Ibrahim, Gabriel Tabet, Antoine Assaf, Georges Fares and Pierre Chemali, as well as a number of other clergymen. Several managers were also present from Bank Audi and LIA Insurance, as well as the students’ parents.

Mr. Audi delivered a speech in which he praised the partnership between Bank Audi and La Sagesse schools, which he described as “mutual assistance”, saying: “Our bank is dedicated to helping members of the La Sagesse family face life’s difficulties and have their basic needs met, while making sure that they enjoy respectable living standards. We share the concerns of La Sagesse trustees and always seek to fulfill their aspirations which ultimately aim at offering their students the best academic qualifications, and providing both their teachers and students with the best level of social welfare. As long as these good intentions unite us, our partnership can only be a successful and fruitful one.”

As for Archbishop Matar, he saluted Bank Audi for this humanitarian project it supports alongside La Sagesse schools “whose wheat, like their colour, is always green, except when it matures and yields abundant harvest. Our schools count 8000 students, in addition to our developing university whose number of students has reached 3000, thanks to the Lord, to your precious trust, and to our loyalty to La Sagesse founders who, almost 130 years ago, devoted themselves to grow knowledge in people’s minds and ethics in people’s hearts.”

Archbishop Matar, Mr. Audi and Father Issam Ibrahim then distributed the “Mérite Blé Vert” scholarships to 113 distinguished students, after which everyone was invited to a cocktail reception on the premises.
