For the second year in a row, Bank Audi placed itself as a leader in embracing new technologies and integrating them in the banking industry by showcasing an innovative and fully interactive experience of cards selection and design using the QR Code Technology, during its participation in the Arabnet 2011 conference held at Habtoor Grand Hotel from March 23 to 25, in which Bank Audi was a major partner
The QR (Quick Response) Code is a 2-dimensional barcode made of black and white boxes where users can encode any type of information (text, music, video, URL…).
Bank Audi is the first bank in Lebanon to incorporate this technology on its card collection, whereby cardholders can snap a picture of the code with a smart phone or place the card into a scanner linked to a computer which will directly trigger, via internet, the preloaded content to pop up on the screen.
Mrs. Randa Bdeir, Head of Electronic Banking & Cards Services at Bank Audi sal - Audi Saradar Group, said on this occasion: “The QR technology will allow our customers to access information on the Bank’s products and services quickly and efficiently”.
Bank Audi will take this technology a step further in the near future, integrating the QR technology to give customers a better opportunity to take advantage of the Bank’s growing array of services. This will be reflected in most of the Bank’s communication material, such as its credit card statements, website, e-mails, ATMs, flyers...
In this context, Bank Audi gave Arabnet visitors the possibility of designing their own cards in a unique way, and of using the QR code technology for 3 purposes:

In this context, Bank Audi gave Arabnet visitors the possibility of designing their own cards in a unique way, and of using the QR code technology for 3 purposes:
- Sending videos: the cardholder can load a video on the QR barcode and send the card to a friend. Once the recipient scans the QR Code image, he is able to watch the video right away.
- Consulting horoscopes: the cardholder can load the QR Code with information about his horoscope. When he scans the QR Code image, he gets instant access to a website giving him all the necessary information on his astrological sign.
- Checking the weather: the cardholder can load the QR Code with a weather-related website link. When he scans the QR Code image, he gets instant access to a weather website.
